Bhimavaram, March 19, 2026:
Ugadi celebrations marking the Telugu New Year, Sri Parabhava Nama Year, were held with great grandeur at the West Godavari District Collectorate in Bhimavaram on Thursday. The event took place at the PGRS conference hall in a festive atmosphere, in the presence of scholars, priests, poets, artists, and district officials.
District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani extended Ugadi greetings to the people of the district, wishing that every family be blessed with happiness, good health, and prosperity. She highlighted the cultural significance of Ugadi in Telugu tradition, explaining that the six tastes (Shadruchulu) in Ugadi Pachadi—sweet, sour, spicy, salty, bitter, and tangy—symbolize the different experiences of life and teach us to accept both joys and hardships with balance.

Cultural performances added vibrancy to the event. Young performers from the Vaishnavi Manikantha Kuchipudi Academy in Bhimavaram enthralled the audience with their dance presentations. Students of JLB Municipal High School staged a literary program titled “Bhuvana Vijayam,” portraying the Ashta Diggaja poets, which received great appreciation from the audience, including poets and artists present at the event.
