Bhimavaram, Feb 03: District Collector Chadala Nagrani paid a surprise visit on Tuesday to the Zilla Parishad High School at Pedakapavaram in Akividu mandal, where special classes are being conducted for Class 10 students as part of the “100-Day Plan.”
The Collector reviewed student attendance and the marks obtained in daily mock tests, interacting personally with students to understand their progress. She advised them to attend school regularly and study sincerely. She emphasized that subjects studied from Class 6 to Class 10 form the foundation for competitive exams such as Group-1, Group-2, UPSC, and IAS. She encouraged students to set goals, study well, and build stable careers to support their parents in the future.
She suggested that after passing Class 10, students may consider courses like ITI, Polytechnic, and Nursing, which offer good employment opportunities upon completion. She also advised students to attempt the Police Constable exam and asked teachers to guide students about various course options and their benefits after Class 10. Students were encouraged to make good use of the school library and cultivate the habit of reading to gain social and economic awareness. The Collector took a pledge from students to study well and care for their parents.
She then inspected the school’s sports equipment, computer lab, library, laboratory, Miyawaki forest, basketball court, and shuttle court, and gave suggestions to the headmaster.Later, the Collector inspected the Solid Waste Management center in the village and enquired about the processing methods. She instructed the Sarpanch and MPP to create awareness among villagers to segregate wet and dry waste, stating that failure to do so harms society.
She also inspected the Rural Protected Water Supply Scheme, filter beds, the village pond, and water pumping systems, issuing directions to RWS officials to ensure the supply of safe drinking water. She ordered that leakages be prevented to avoid contamination and that proper chlorination be maintained.
The Collector personally reviewed water tax collection records, interacted with a taxpayer, and directed the Village Secretary and VRVO to ensure timely collection and remittance to the government account without any pending dues.
