The state government is reportedly preparing for a fresh round of transfers involving several key IAS officers. According to sources, the proposed reshuffle may include district collectors as well as one or two principal secretaries heading important departments. The developments have sparked widespread discussion within bureaucratic and political circles.

In recent times, allegations have emerged that a few IAS officers have been acting against the coalition government and are allegedly lobbying in favor of former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. These claims have triggered intense debate within administrative circles. At the same time, it is being reported that the government is conducting a confidential inquiry to identify officials who are perceived to be aligned with the former leadership. Sources suggest that some officers have already been identified, and the government is considering transferring them to less significant postings or attaching them to the General Administration Department.

Government Plans Major IAS Transfers Amid Political Allegations

However, there is no official clarity yet on which officers will be affected. Among the key departments likely to see changes is the Municipal Administration Department. Reports indicate that Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar may be transferred. The primary reason being cited is his lack of coordination with Municipal Minister Narayana.

Just two days ago, the government transferred Kannababu, who was serving as the CRDA Commissioner. The sudden nature of his transfer has raised several questions, as the reasons behind the decision remain unclear. Notably, he was believed to have maintained good relations with Minister Narayana. Despite this, speculation is rife regarding the factors that led to his transfer.

Some reports suggest that a contractor involved in capital region works may have influenced the decision, while others point to issues related to bill payments and administrative matters. Another version claims that Kannababu himself sought the transfer, as he is set to retire within the next six months. It is believed that he preferred to move away from a high-pressure role like CRDA to avoid complications during his final phase of service.

Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing about who will replace the Municipal Administration Principal Secretary if the transfer goes through. There is also speculation that a woman IAS officer from the Karnataka cadre may be brought into the state. It is said that the central government has already granted approval for her deputation. Reliable sources indicate that an official in the Chief Minister’s Office had previously blocked her move, but the newly appointed Chief Secretary has cleared the obstacles, making her appointment almost certain.

Key Departments and District Collectors Likely to See Changes

At the district level, there is strong speculation that the Guntur District Collector may be transferred. Social media is abuzz with claims that she may be moved to the Education Department. In another development, Vijayaram Raju, who was serving as Director in the Education Department under Minister Lokesh, has been appointed as the CRDA Commissioner. Following his appointment, there are reports that Ansaria may be brought in to fill his previous role.

Further, it is being reported that A. S. Dinesh Kumar, currently serving as the Collector of Alluri Sitarama Raju district, may be appointed to the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB). Chief Minister Chandrababu is said to be satisfied with his performance and believes that he could deliver better results in a key role within the economic development framework.

At present, Saikanth Varma is serving as the CEO of APEDB, and there are indications that he may be given an opportunity as a district collector, as reportedly promised by the Chief Minister. Similarly, Abhishikth Kishore, who is currently the Managing Director of APIIC, is also being considered for a collector position. It remains to be seen which of the two will be assigned the role.

In addition, there are reports that a collector from the Rayalaseema region may also be transferred. Speculation is also ongoing about possible changes involving one or two collectors from the Godavari districts. Alongside these, two senior IAS officers currently working with a key minister in the state secretariat are also likely to face transfers.

Another young IAS officer, who is playing an important role in a minister’s department related to the capital region, is also reportedly set to be transferred. Sources suggest that differences between the officer and the minister have led to the situation. It is even being said that the officer himself has requested officials in the Chief Minister’s Office to facilitate his transfer.

Overall, there is strong speculation that this round of transfers will specifically target officers perceived to have links with the previous YSR Congress government. The administration appears determined to reposition key officials in line with its current priorities, making this reshuffle one of the most closely watched developments in recent times.
