Farmers Can Self-Register Crops Through AP AIMS App
E-Crop Data Key to Schemes, Subsidies, Insurance and MSP Benefits
Bhimavaram, Feb 11:At Bhairavapalem in L.B. Cherla village of Narasapuram Mandal, District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani and Joint Collector T. Rahul Kumar Reddy conducted a field inspection on Wednesday, observing farmers Koonapureddy Mallikharjuna Rao and Barri Musalayya while completing their e-crop booking.
Interacting with the farmers, the Collector enquired about the crop variety sown, extent of cultivation, whether any crop loan was taken, and the expected harvest time.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that earlier, agriculture department staff used to visit farmers’ fields and complete crop registration along with them. Now, the government has simplified the process by enabling farmers to register their crops on their own. For this purpose, the government has introduced the AP AIMS (Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Information Management System) app, through which farmers can complete the e-crop registration themselves.
She explained that e-crop booking helps farmers easily access various government schemes, subsidies, and loans. Digitally recording crop data enables faster processing of compensation, insurance claims, and relief measures. Farmers can obtain crop loans and zero-interest loans from banks more easily. They can also enroll in crop insurance schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
Subsidies and concessions on seeds, fertilizers, and agricultural machinery can be availed through this system. In case of crop loss due to rains, cyclones, or drought, compensation can be processed quickly based on the e-crop data. She further stated that e-crop registration is mandatory to receive benefits under schemes such as PM-Kisan and Annadata Sukhibhava, and also to sell paddy at Minimum Support Price at procurement centers.
The Collector emphasized that every farmer must complete e-crop registration without fail.
Earlier, local farmers brought to the Collector’s notice the issue of silt removal works in the West Dabbarevu drain. They requested installation of shutters and desilting along an 8.3-km stretch, which would help farmers in nearly nine panchayats cultivate two crops a year. Responding positively, the Collector assured that proposals would be prepared by officials and submitted to the government.
District Agriculture Officer Z. Venkateswara Rao, RDO Das Raju, ADA MVS Prasad, MAO Joshiel, VAA Nagajyoti, Delta Committee Chairman Gubbala Marri Raju, Tahsildar IVV Satyanarayana, MPDO M. Asura Reddy, EOPRD K. Nagendra Kumar, and farmers participated in the program.
