Speaking at a district-level review meeting held at Tikkana Bhavan in the Collectorate, the Collector emphasized the importance of creating a safe and respectful working environment for women. The meeting, organized by ICDS with the support of ARD voluntary organization, focused on preventive measures and awareness regarding workplace harassment against women. Officials from various departments attended the session and discussed strategies to ensure accountability and transparency.

Workplace Harassment Against Women: Strict Monitoring Measures
To tackle workplace harassment against women, the Collector directed officials to establish Internal Monitoring Committees at both mandal and district levels. These committees will handle complaints confidentially and ensure timely action. He stressed that women should report harassment without fear and that authorities must respond swiftly.

The Collector also highlighted a recent case where strict action was taken against a Mandal Revenue Officer based on complaints, sending a clear message that negligence or misconduct will not be tolerated. He further instructed officials to spread awareness about legal rights and the importance of reporting workplace harassment against women.

Additionally, ICDS Project Officer Hema Sujan revealed that 304 internal committees have already been formed across the district. She assured that complaints are resolved within 90 days and that facilities like the Sakhi-1 Centre are available for women to seek help.
The meeting also addressed broader social concerns, including child protection and the implementation of the POCSO Act. Officials stressed the need for coordinated efforts to ensure safety for both women and children.
