SPSR Nellore District, April 3, 2026: Kakani Poojitha, State Women’s Working President of the YSR Congress Party, strongly condemned the increasing attacks on women, calling them “heinous and unacceptable.” Addressing a press conference at the party’s district office in SPSR Nellore, she expressed deep concern over the deteriorating safety conditions for women under the current coalition government. According to her, incidents of harassment, violence, and atrocities have become alarmingly frequent across the state, raising serious concerns among the public.
Attacks on Women Reflect Law and Order Failure
Highlighting a recent daylight assault on a woman, Poojitha described it as a shocking example of administrative failure and worsening law enforcement. She questioned how such attacks on women continue despite the presence of a woman Home Minister, stating that it exposes serious loopholes in governance and policing. Targeting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, she criticized their silence on the issue. She also raised concerns over the lack of action against Jana Sena MLA Arava Sridhar, questioning why no strict measures had been taken despite allegations.

Poojitha further stated that during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, strict laws and initiatives ensured better protection for women. She alleged that mechanisms like the Disha laws, which were introduced to curb attacks on women, are now being neglected, resulting in increased insecurity. Additionally, she accused the police system of failing to act impartially, claiming that victims and those raising their voices are facing undue pressure while offenders go unpunished.
Expressing public frustration, she warned that continued negligence toward attacks on women could lead to widespread protests. She demanded immediate arrests of those responsible for recent incidents and strict action against officials who failed in their duties. Reaffirming her party’s commitment, Poojitha assured that the YSR Congress Party would stand firmly with victims and fight for justice until proper action is taken.
