A crucial meeting was held at the Tikkana Convention Hall under the chairmanship of District Collector Himanshu Shukla to address the issue of illegal fishing boats entering Andhra Pradesh coastal waters. Several senior leaders, including former minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana and Maritime Board Chairman Damacharla Satya, participated in the discussions.
The focus was on preventing unauthorized entry of boats from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry into Andhra waters and ensuring the safety of local fishermen. Public representatives urged authorities to find a permanent solution to this long-standing issue affecting coastal communities.
Minister Kollu Ravindra revealed that four boats from Puducherry, which had been held at the Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbour for eight months, were recently taken away by unidentified persons, causing distress among fishermen.
