The minister said the Sagar Defence Project is expected to generate employment for more than 1,000 youth, both directly and indirectly. He emphasized that providing high-tech employment opportunities to young people is one of the government’s top priorities.
Highlighting the state’s geographical advantage, Lokesh said India has a vast coastline and that Andhra Pradesh possesses the second-longest coastline in the country. The government is therefore focusing on developing coastal regions into industrial and technology corridors, he added.

The harbour is expected to significantly improve the livelihoods of fishermen in the region. According to officials, the harbour will support 1,250 mechanised fishing boats and have a storage capacity of 41,000 tonnes of fish, benefiting nearly 25,000 fishing families.
The minister assured the fishing community that the government would always stand by them and work to strengthen the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Member of Parliament, said the establishment of the Sagar Defence Project in Juvvaladinne is a matter of pride for the state. He noted that advanced drone and maritime technologies developed at the facility could also help fishermen identify fish-rich zones in the sea.
Beeda Ravichandra, Member of the Legislative Council, described the project as a valuable addition to the industrial landscape of Nellore district.
