A special Agniveer recruitment rally for male candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
Recruitment process to begin from midnight on the 16th
Guntur, Feb 10: The Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment Rally will be conducted from February 17 to 27 at the premises of Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur district. The 400-meter synthetic track at the university has been readied. Since the selection process will be held during night hours, floodlights are being arranged. Indoor badminton courts and gym buildings are being prepared for physical measurements and medical examinations.
Adjacent to the synthetic track, arrangements are being made for physical endurance tests, drug tests, candidate attendance, waiting areas, and mobile toilets. Medical camps and ambulances will be made available. Along with emergency medicines, advanced medical care will be ensured during emergencies, with cardiologists and orthopedic specialists kept on standby. Lab technician services will also be available. Adequate sanitation staff is being deployed. As a precautionary measure, fire engines are being kept ready. Police security and barricading are also being arranged wherever necessary.
A coordination committee meeting regarding the rally was held on Tuesday at the Collector’s office. Joint Collector Ashutosh Srivastava reviewed the arrangements along with Army Recruiting Director Colonel Rajat Suvarna. Speaking on the occasion, the Joint Collector stated that the rally is meant for male candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and that a total of 8,598 candidates are expected to participate. He directed officials to ensure that there are no shortcomings in the arrangements and that the event is conducted smoothly. The District Sainik Welfare Officer has been appointed as the nodal coordination officer.
Colonel Rajat Suvarna, Army Recruiting Director, stated that the rally will be held from February 17 to 27 and that the process will begin at 12 midnight on February 16. All candidates have completed online registration. Recruitment will be conducted for Agniveer General Duty, Technical, Clerk/Store Keeper, and Tradesman categories for candidates from 10th and 8th class educational backgrounds.
He explained that the selection process will be conducted in several stages. Initially, a 1.6-kilometer run will be conducted on the synthetic track at Nagarjuna University between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., requiring uninterrupted power supply during this period. Candidates are advised to wear spike shoes or at least proper footwear. Those who qualify in the run will undergo physical tests such as pull-ups, zig-zag balance, and 9-foot long jump. Candidates who pass these tests will then undergo physical measurement tests including height and weight. Qualified candidates will be asked to write a paragraph, followed by drug tests and medical examinations.
Candidates must report to the recruitment venue at the designated time, as the running process will begin at midnight. Tattoos larger than five centimeters are not allowed on the body, except for candidates from tribal communities, who are permitted as per their customs. Candidates selected in the final tests will undergo simple medical examinations after two to three months, following which appointments will be made. Appointment orders will be sent to the selected candidates via their registered email IDs.
The Army officials requested the district administration to extend full support in providing infrastructure.
