Bhimavaram/New Delhi: Fuel Price Relief remains a key focus as Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries, Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, said the Central Government is acting as a protective shield for common people despite global tensions driving crude oil prices higher.
He stated that rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia have pushed global oil prices upward, but the Centre has ensured that the burden is not passed on to citizens. He credited this to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Measures to Control Fuel Prices
In a press statement, the minister said that although international crude oil prices have increased, the government has taken steps to keep petrol and diesel prices under control. He noted that excise duty was reduced by up to ₹10, with the Centre bearing the financial impact to provide relief to the public.
