Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has reassured the public that there is no shortage of LPG in Andhra Pradesh, stating that sufficient reserves are available for the next 15 days. The Andhra Pradesh LPG stock situation was reviewed in detail during a high-level meeting held at the RTGS Centre in the Secretariat on Tuesday.

During the review, officials informed that the state currently has 14,000 metric tonnes of LPG stock, with an additional 24,000 metric tonnes available at Visakhapatnam. The Chief Minister emphasized that there is no need for public concern regarding LPG availability.
To prevent misuse, he directed officials to implement strict monitoring systems, including e-KYC and OTP verification, to ensure cylinders are not diverted to the black market. He also instructed gas companies to increase production in the short term and improve distribution efficiency under the Andhra Pradesh LPG stock management plan.
The Chief Minister suggested exploring alternative solutions such as promoting induction stoves, ensuring immediate options are available to consumers if required.

Andhra Pradesh LPG Stock: Expansion of Piped Gas and Smart Governance
In addition to LPG supply, the Chief Minister reviewed the expansion of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network. He directed officials to accelerate the rollout of piped gas connections across the state, utilizing locally produced natural gas.
Officials reported that CGD networks operated by AG&P, Bhagyanagar Gas Limited, GGPL, IOCL, and Megha Gas are currently supplying gas through 198 CNG stations and supporting around 1.68 lakh domestic connections. The government is also focusing on expanding the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) as sustainable alternatives.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to prepare an immediate action plan to enhance piped gas infrastructure under the Andhra Pradesh LPG stock strategy.
Beyond energy, he also directed officials to strengthen governance systems, including the launch of the AP One app and the use of AWARE and Data Lake technologies. With summer approaching, he stressed the need for proactive measures regarding drinking water supply, heatwaves, and cattle fodder.
Senior officials and representatives from petroleum companies, including GAIL and ONGC, attended the meeting, reinforcing the government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted energy supply and public welfare.
