Tirupati, March 15: District Collector Dr. S. Venkateshwar announced that the Rythanna Mee Kosam Campaign will be conducted across Tirupati district from March 16 to 18 and again from March 23 to 25, following the directions of the Andhra Pradesh government. The initiative aims to create awareness among farmers about the welfare schemes and agricultural support programmes implemented by the state government. The Collector issued instructions to officials from the Agriculture and Revenue departments through a teleconference regarding the arrangements for the campaign.

Awareness Programmes in Every Village

During the teleconference, the Collector directed officials to conduct awareness programmes in every village to inform farmers about the various welfare schemes available to them. As part of the Rythanna Mee Kosam Campaign, village-level officials will form teams and visit households to explain government initiatives designed to support farmers.

Officials were instructed to distribute pamphlets containing detailed information about agricultural schemes so that farmers can easily understand and utilize the benefits. The campaign will focus on ensuring that farmers are aware of the services and assistance provided by the government to improve agricultural productivity and financial security.

The Collector emphasized that field-level officials should actively interact with farmers and clarify their doubts about government programmes. This direct engagement will help farmers make better decisions regarding crop cultivation, subsidies, and other agricultural benefits.

Installation of AP AIMS App for Farmers

Collector Venkateshwar also directed officials to ensure that farmers install the AP AIMS mobile application on their smartphones. The app has been designed to provide farmers with important agricultural information, including updates on crop pests and diseases, weather forecasts, market prices, and e-crop registration.

Officials were instructed to guide farmers on how to use the application effectively so they can access real-time information and improve crop management practices.

Advisory on Weather and Crop Management

The Collector cautioned that due to the possible impact of the El Niño phenomenon this year, the region may experience higher temperatures and potential drought conditions. Farmers were therefore advised to adopt crop diversification strategies and make use of Pre-Monsoon Dry Sowing (PMDS) kits to reduce risks associated with adverse weather conditions.

Officials were asked to create awareness among farmers about climate-resilient agricultural practices during the campaign.

He further directed that each official team should visit at least 90 households per day in the assigned villages to spread awareness among farmers. The progress of the programme must be monitored regularly, and daily reports should be submitted to the district administration.

Officials believe that the awareness drive will help farmers better understand government schemes and improve their preparedness for the upcoming agricultural seasons.
