District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani said that awareness programmes being conducted from February 9 to 13 as part of Financial Literacy Week should be widely taken to the people to create greater awareness.
On Monday, the District Collector unveiled the Financial Literacy Week 2026 awareness wall poster at the video conference hall of the District Collectorate. Speaking on the occasion, she stated that the objective of organizing Financial Literacy Week on a large scale is to educate people on managing their financial affairs effectively.
She emphasized the need to create clear awareness among the public on savings habits, use of banking services, digital transactions, loan management, insurance, and investments. She noted that people in rural areas, women, youth, members of self-help groups, and farmers can achieve financial self-reliance by improving their financial literacy.

She also directed officials to educate the public about cyber safety and precautions to be taken while making online transactions to prevent fraud.
She advised that every family should plan their income and expenditure carefully to secure their future. The District Collector stated that sustainable development is possible only through financial literacy and instructed the concerned officials to conduct the week-long programmes in a way that brings meaningful change in people’s lives.
