Andhra Pradesh Heatwave 2026 Worsens Across 100+ Mandals
According to APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain, the Andhra Pradesh Heatwave 2026 will impact more than 100 mandals.
On April 13, around 51 mandals are expected to face severe heatwave conditions, while 49 mandals will experience heatwave conditions. The situation is expected to worsen on April 14, with 53 mandals under severe heatwave and 57 mandals under heatwave conditions.
North Andhra districts will be the worst affected, while coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions are also likely to record dangerously high temperatures.

District-Wise Impact of Andhra Pradesh Heatwave 2026
The Andhra Pradesh Heatwave 2026 is expected to hit districts like Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Kakinada, and East Godavari.
Severe heatwave conditions are forecast in multiple mandals of North Andhra, while districts like NTR, Palnadu, and Nandyal will also face high temperatures.
On Sunday, temperatures soared above 43°C, with Pottipadu in Kadapa recording 43.8°C, making it one of the hottest locations in the state.
Health Advisory Amid Andhra Pradesh Heatwave 2026
With the Andhra Pradesh Heatwave 2026 intensifying, officials have issued strict safety guidelines:
- Avoid going out during peak afternoon hours
- Wear light cotton clothes and cover your head
- Stay hydrated with water, buttermilk, and coconut water
- Use sunglasses to protect your eyes
- People with heart disease, diabetes, or BP should stay indoors
Authorities warned that prolonged exposure to extreme heat can lead to dehydration, heatstroke, and other serious health complications.
