Mid-Day Meal Inspection in Eluru drew attention as Andhra Pradesh Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi conducted a surprise visit to a government school and shared a meal with students to check food quality firsthand.
This visit highlights the government’s focus on student nutrition and food quality in schools.
The inspection took place at Zilla Parishad High School (+1) in Eedara village of Agiripalli mandal, where the Minister interacted directly with students and reviewed the implementation of the scheme.
Minister Shares Meal, Reviews Food Quality
Such inspections are aimed at ensuring safe and healthy meals for students.
During the visit, Parthasarathi dined with students to personally assess the taste and quality of the mid-day meal. He interacted with both boys and girls, asking about their academic experience, teaching standards, and satisfaction with the meals.
The Minister said the surprise inspection was aimed at ensuring proper implementation of the scheme and noted that students expressed satisfaction with the food being served.
This initiative is expected to improve student nutrition and strengthen trust in government schools.

‘Dokka Seethamma’ Scheme Focuses on Nutrition

Parthasarathi stated that the coalition government is implementing the mid-day meal programme under the name “Dokka Seethamma”, with a focus on ensuring healthy growth among students.
He said nutritious meals are being prepared using quality rice to support students’ health and overall well-being.

Daily Monitoring Made Mandatory, Strict Action Warned
Highlighting a key reform, the Minister said that as per a decision by IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh, teachers must inspect the quality of meals every day.
He described this as an important step to ensure accountability and maintain standards.
Parthasarathi also issued a warning that strict action would be taken if any lapses are found.
“Even minor issues in food quality will not be tolerated,” he said.
Focus on Education and Welfare Measures
The Minister added that the government has completed teacher recruitment within its first year, highlighting its focus on strengthening the education system.
Officials, school staff, and local representatives were present during the inspection.
Authorities said monitoring will continue to ensure consistent quality and better facilities for students.
