In a significant initiative aimed at promoting media welfare, free health check-ups for journalists will be conducted across West Godavari district on April 10 and 13, 2026. District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani announced that these special medical camps are being organized to ensure the well-being of accredited journalists working under demanding conditions.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the health of media professionals by providing access to quality healthcare services through free health check-ups for journalists.

Free Health Check-ups for Journalists – Camp Details
The first phase of free health check-ups for journalists will be held on April 10 at the District Collectorate in Bhimavaram. Journalists from Bhimavaram, Veeravasaram, Undi, Kalla, Akiveedu, and Palakoderu mandals are eligible to attend. The camp is being organized under the joint collaboration of Lions Club Bhimavaram, Femina Lions Club, and Omics Next Gen Laboratories.
The second phase of free health check-ups for journalists is scheduled for April 13 at multiple locations. These include Narsapuram Area Hospital for Narsapuram and Mogalturu, Palakollu Area Hospital for Achanta, Palakollu, and Yelamanchili, Tadepalligudem Area Hospital for Tadepalligudem, Pentapadu, and Ganapavaram, and Tanuku District Government Hospital for Tanuku, Iragavaram, Attili, Penugonda, and Poduru mandals.

The camps will offer comprehensive medical services, including blood pressure, blood sugar tests, ECG, 2D Echo, and Complete Blood Picture. In addition, specialist doctors from cardiology, general medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedics, neurology, and gastroenterology will provide consultations under the free health check-ups for journalists program.

Officials stated that journalists must submit their name, organization details, accreditation number, and Aadhaar card photocopy at the registration counters to avail the services. The District Collector urged all eligible media personnel to take advantage of these free health check-ups for journalists and prioritize their health.
