Speaking at a program organized by Avagahana, Dr. Srinivas explained that increased body weight puts excessive pressure on knee joints, accelerating wear and tear. He warned that Knee Degeneration Risk is higher among individuals who are overweight or obese, leading to long-term joint problems and mobility issues. The session focused on bone, joint, and muscle disorders, where the doctor emphasized preventive care and early diagnosis.

Knee Degeneration Risk Higher in Patients with Chronic Illness

Dr. Srinivas stated that people undergoing long-term treatment for diseases like Diabetes and Cancer face an increased Knee Degeneration Risk. He explained that certain medications can weaken joints and bones over time. Therefore, such patients must take extra precautions, including regular check-ups and lifestyle adjustments, to reduce complications related to Knee Degeneration Risk.

Women Face Greater Knee Degeneration Risk

Highlighting gender-related health concerns, Dr. Srinivas noted that women are more prone to Knee Degeneration Risk due to reduced iron levels during menstruation. Lower hemoglobin levels can affect blood circulation and joint movement, making women more vulnerable to joint pain and stiffness. He stressed the importance of proper nutrition and regular monitoring to manage Knee Degeneration Risk effectively.

Early Detection Reduces Knee Degeneration Risk

The doctor emphasized that early diagnosis plays a crucial role in minimizing Knee Degeneration Risk. He also spoke about advanced knee replacement techniques available at KIMS Shikhar Hospital, which ensure faster recovery with minimal pain. These modern “fast-track” procedures reduce hospital stay and eliminate the need for prolonged physiotherapy.

Tips to Lower Knee Degeneration Risk

Dr. Srinivas advised maintaining a healthy weight as the most effective way to control Knee Degeneration Risk. He recommended regular exercise to strengthen muscles and joints, along with adequate intake of calcium and Vitamin D for better bone health. Addressing queries from participants, he clarified doubts regarding joint pain and knee replacement surgeries.
