AP Minority Welfare Highlighted at Machilipatnam Iftar
The Iftar programme, organized by the Minority Welfare Department, was held at the Zilla Parishad Convention Hall and attended by District Collector DK Balaji and APSRTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao, along with several officials and community leaders.
Speaking at the event, Kollu Ravindra emphasized that AP Minority Welfare remains a top priority for the government. He noted that Ramzan symbolizes sacrifice, patience, and unity, promoting harmony and brotherhood in society. The Minister also appreciated the devotion of the Muslim community in observing fasting from Sehri to Iftar.
He stated that organizing such Iftar gatherings reflects the government’s intent to share in the celebrations of the Muslim community and strengthen social bonds.

Government Initiatives Strengthen AP Minority Welfare
Highlighting key initiatives under AP Minority Welfare, the Minister revealed that the government has disbursed around ₹180 crore as honorariums to Imams and Mouzams. Funds have also been allocated for the repair and development of mosques and dargahs.
He further stated that the construction of the Haj House in Vijayawada, which began earlier, is now being revived for completion. Additionally, steps are being taken to construct a dargah in Kadapa.
The government has allocated over ₹6,090 crore in the budget for minority welfare, covering economic, educational, and social development programmes. Measures are also being taken to safeguard Waqf Board properties and utilize them effectively for community benefit.
District Collector DK Balaji highlighted the “One Family – One Entrepreneur” initiative, assuring financial support to aspiring entrepreneurs from the Muslim community. APSRTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao described Ramzan as a symbol of peace and unity, extending his greetings.
