Buttayagudem: A tragic incident of Dora Mamidi Reservoir Drowning has shocked residents of Buttayagudem mandal after two youths accidentally drowned while bathing in the reservoir near the Dora Mamidi Dam. The victims, identified as Tummala Nagaraju and Tummala Venkata Ramana from Yadavolu village, had reportedly visited the Gubbala Mangamma temple earlier in the day. While returning from the temple, the two youths stopped near the reservoir and entered the water for a bath, which tragically led to the accident.

Dora Mamidi Reservoir Drowning Leaves One Dead
According to local sources, the Dora Mamidi Reservoir Drowning incident occurred when both youths went into the water without realizing the depth and strong currents of the reservoir. Within a short time, they lost control and went missing in the water.
After receiving information about the incident, Sub-Inspector Umamaheswara Rao from the local police station immediately rushed to the spot along with police personnel. With the help of local villagers and volunteers, the police launched a search operation to locate the missing youths.
During the search efforts, the body of Tummala Venkata Ramana was recovered from the reservoir. His death has caused deep grief among family members and villagers in Yadavolu.

Following the Dora Mamidi Reservoir Drowning, police intensified the search operation to locate the second youth, Tummala Nagaraju, who is still missing in the water. The search operation is being conducted under the supervision of SI Umamaheswara Rao with the assistance of local residents.
