The District Level Bankers Committee (DLBC) meeting was held on Friday at the Tikkana Auditorium in the Collectorate, under the chairmanship of the District Collector. During the meeting, Lead District Bank Manager Manishekhar presented the action taken report on the decisions made in the previous meeting.

Addressing the bankers and officials, Collector Himanshu Shukla said that agricultural mechanisation provides several benefits to farmers, including reduced cultivation costs and improved efficiency in farming operations. In this context, he urged banks to generously provide loans for the purchase of agricultural equipment such as tractors, farm machinery, and drones.

The Collector also stressed the need to encourage allied sectors like dairy, fisheries, and poultry farming by providing adequate financial support. He advised bankers to consider the needs of farmers involved in these sectors and avoid rejecting loan applications unnecessarily so that more farmers can benefit from institutional credit.

He further suggested that banks should support farmers engaged in horticulture crops such as dragon fruit and papaya, which are gaining popularity in the district, by sanctioning suitable loans.

Collector Shukla also directed bankers to facilitate loans under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, enabling more households in the district to install rooftop solar systems and benefit from the programme.

In addition, he urged banks to encourage small business development by sanctioning loans under schemes such as MUDRA loans and PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme).

The Collector instructed heads of government departments to identify inactive bank accounts related to government offices and ensure that they are reactivated immediately. He asked officials to coordinate with banks and complete the e-KYC process along with necessary documentation to restore the accounts without delay.
