Collector Warns Against Negligence in Addressing Public Grievances

ASR / Polavaram Districts, March 05:District Collector Dinesh Kumar has directed officials to resolve petitions received through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) and Revenue Clinics with utmost priority and within the stipulated time frame. He emphasized that officials must take proactive steps to ensure that grievances submitted by citizens are addressed promptly and effectively.

On Thursday, the Collector conducted a review meeting with officials of both districts through a video conference from his camp office. During the meeting, he held detailed discussions on the various petitions pending in their respective jurisdictions that were received through PGRS and Revenue Clinics.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector instructed officials not to keep petitions pending at the field level and to resolve them quickly to ensure justice for the affected citizens. He advised officials to thoroughly examine complaints related to land issues, mutations, and other revenue matters that are brought forward through Revenue Clinics.

The Collector stressed that officials must act responsibly, noting that people approach the government with great hope for solutions to their problems. He warned that negligence in addressing public grievances would invite strict action.

He further clarified that simply closing petitions by citing technical reasons without providing a proper resolution is not acceptable. Instead, officials should ensure that the petitioner is satisfied with the outcome. Measures must also be taken to prevent repeated applications on the same issue. Only when the grievance is genuinely resolved will the petitioner express satisfaction during IVRS feedback by selecting the appropriate response.

The Collector also raised concerns about cleanliness at RTC bus depots, stating that several complaints had been received from the public regarding poor sanitation and the accumulation of garbage in depot premises. He instructed RTC authorities to take immediate steps to remove waste and ensure that depot areas remain clean under proper supervision.

Additionally, he directed Panchayat Raj and DLPO officials to reduce public resistance to door-to-door waste collection and the segregation of wet and dry waste by creating greater awareness among citizens about waste management practices.
