Supreme Court Found No Evidence in TTD Laddu Allegations
Don’t Use Devotees’ Faith for Political Gains
(Our Staff Reporter)
Bhimavaram:Former minister Roja said that the TTD laddu controversy should not be used for political purposes and that issues related to devotees’ faith must be handled responsibly.
Speaking to the media after offering prayers at the Sri Someshwara Janardhana Swamy Temple in Gunupudi, Bhimavaram, one of the famous Pancharama temples, Roja said that the Supreme Court, based on the report of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has clarified that there is no evidence supporting the allegations that animal fat was mixed in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) laddu.
She said that it is not appropriate to use matters connected to the spiritual beliefs of devotees for political gains. Roja expressed concern that even leaders holding responsible positions such as the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Home Minister are making remarks on the issue despite the Supreme Court’s advice not to drag religion into politics. Such statements, she said, not only hurt the sentiments of devotees but also create unnecessary doubts among the public about the political system.

Roja also expressed disappointment that discussions in the Legislative Council have deteriorated to the level where references are being made to the caste of Chairperson Moshen Raju. She alleged that leaders of the ruling coalition are making baseless accusations in the Assembly and diverting public attention away from real issues through political distractions.
She further criticized Minister Atchannaidu, stating that leaders in responsible positions must behave appropriately and speak with restraint. Bringing caste references into the TTD laddu issue is not correct, she said, adding that the faith of devotees should never be used for political advantage.

Roja also remarked that whenever elections are held in the state, the people are ready to defeat the coalition government. She said that political leaders must work sincerely for the welfare of the public and, if they are unable to do so, they should step down from their positions.
