Transformer Theft Gang Arrested in Chintalapudi with 160 kg copper wire seized

In a significant crackdown on organized crime, the Transformer Theft Gang Arrested in Chintalapudi case has brought relief to farmers and residents in the region. The Eluru district police successfully apprehended a gang involved in multiple transformer thefts and recovered around 160 kilograms of stolen copper wire. The operation highlights the growing concern over infrastructure theft and the firm response from law enforcement authorities.

According to Jangareddygudem ASP Ms. R. Sushmita, IPS, the case came to light after an Electrical Assistant Engineer filed a complaint regarding theft from a transformer located near NVN Colony in Chintalapudi. The incident occurred on April 17, where unknown individuals damaged the transformer and stole valuable copper wire. Following this, a detailed investigation was launched under the directions of District SP K.P.S. Kishore, IPS. The swift action taken by the police ultimately led to the Transformer Theft Gang Arrested in Chintalapudi, solving multiple pending cases.

Investigation and Arrest Details

The police formed two special teams under the supervision of ASP Sushmita to track down the culprits involved in transformer thefts. These teams were led by Chintalapudi Circle Inspector T. Kranthi Kumar and Sub-Inspector K. Satish Kumar. After intensive surveillance and field investigation, the teams successfully identified and arrested five individuals, including one minor.

The arrested accused were identified as Chundru Anil Kumar alias Sunny (27), Yamarla Veeranjaneyulu alias Veerababu (31), Andugula Venkateswara Rao (52), and Shaik Hussain Pasha (40), along with a juvenile. During the operation, police recovered approximately 160 kilograms of copper wire. Further investigation revealed that the gang was involved in 19 transformer thefts linked to 10 separate cases across the Chintalapudi area.

The Transformer Theft Gang Arrested in Chintalapudi case demonstrates the coordinated efforts of the police force in tackling repeated crimes affecting rural infrastructure and agriculture.


Police Efforts Appreciated

ASP Sushmita appreciated the dedication and efficiency of the police teams involved in solving the case. She specifically commended the efforts of CI T. Kranthi Kumar, SI K. Satish Kumar, Head Constable Jayaraju, and police personnel including Satyanarayana, Ramesh, Hanumanth, Naga Lakshman, and Home Guard Konda.
