Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launches Monthly Economic Report Andhra Pradesh

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announces India's first Monthly Economic Report to strengthen data-driven governance in Andhra Pradesh.

Amaravati, July 14: Andhra Pradesh has become the first state in India to introduce a Monthly Economic Report Andhra Pradesh initiative to monitor economic performance and strengthen governance through real-time data. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced the initiative while addressing ministers, secretaries, and Heads of Departments (HoDs) at the State Secretariat, saying the report will help improve policy decisions, public service delivery, and administrative accountability.

The Chief Minister said monthly reviews of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), revenue collections, and departmental performance would enable the government to identify gaps quickly and take timely corrective measures. He added that the performance and skills of government employees would also be reviewed regularly to improve efficiency.

Monthly Economic Report Andhra Pradesh to Improve Governance

Naidu directed all departments to focus on improving citizen satisfaction by delivering faster and better public services. He instructed officials to conduct regular field visits to understand people’s concerns firsthand and ensure governance reflects ground realities.

Expressing concern over pending public grievances, the Chief Minister asked departments to resolve complaints promptly through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS). He also called for zero pendency in grievance disposal and suggested reviewing existing rules and laws to permanently address recurring issues.

The Chief Minister noted that the Revenue Department inherited a large number of pending complaints from the previous administration. To resolve long-standing land disputes, the government has been distributing Pattadar Passbooks every month. Several disputes have already been settled, while another 7.2 million Pattadar Passbooks remain to be distributed.

Highlighting the role of technology in governance, Naidu said the government has introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to simplify administration and improve revenue collection. These initiatives have contributed to a 24 percent increase in revenue collections across government departments.

He also said Andhra Pradesh recorded nearly 20 percent economic growth over 2017 levels during the previous year. Congratulating officials, he urged them to continue delivering results through innovation, transparency, and accountability.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to consumers, Naidu said electricity tariffs have remained unchanged despite entering the third year in office. He also announced plans to expand solar energy and promote induction cooking to reduce dependence on conventional fuels amid global energy uncertainties.
