According to doctors at KIMS Shikara Hospital in Guntur, Madhushree (25), a resident of Jangareddygudem and a mother of two, attempted suicide in a moment of distress. Her family quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital, and later she was shifted to Vijayawada for advanced treatment.
As her condition remained critical, she was admitted to KIMS Shikara Hospital on the 13th of this month. She was treated under the supervision of neurologist Dr. Pradeep Kumar Reddy and neurosurgeon Dr. Chittam Lakshman. Despite continuous efforts, her condition did not improve.
On the 15th, doctors conducted an apnea test, which confirmed the absence of brain activity. The following day, she was declared brain dead. This marked a crucial moment in the Guntur organ donation case, as doctors sensitively explained the situation to her family.

Madhushree’s husband Naidu Durgarao, along with her parents Satyanarayana and Radha, made an extraordinary decision during their time of grief. They agreed to donate her organs, hoping that her life would continue through others.

Following this noble gesture, her lungs were sent to Apollo Hospital in Chennai, while her liver and one kidney were transplanted at KIMS Shikara Hospital. Another kidney was donated to Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Hospital.
Doctors stated that the Guntur organ donation has helped save multiple lives, offering a second chance to critically ill patients. This act of compassion has not only brought relief to several families but also raised awareness about the importance of organ donation.
