Divyang Shakti Scheme Launched with Grand Participation

The Divyang Shakti Scheme was inaugurated at Mangalagiri, where a symbolic bus journey began from the Mangalagiri Bus Stand along the Old Mangalagiri route. The event witnessed active participation from Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Education Minister Nara Lokesh.

The leaders travelled in a Palle Velugu bus along with divyang beneficiaries, interacting with them and understanding their challenges. The journey attracted widespread public attention, with citizens gathering along the route to welcome the initiative. Following the launch, the Chief Minister hosted a special lunch for beneficiaries, celebrating the scheme’s rollout.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that differently-abled individuals possess unique talents and strength. He stated that the government is committed to empowering them through meaningful welfare measures.

Benefits of Divyang Shakti Scheme for Differently-Abled

Under the Divyang Shakti Scheme, individuals with more than 40% disability across 21 categories can avail free travel in APSRTC services, including City Ordinary, Metro Express, Palle Velugu, Ultra Palle Velugu, and Express buses. The scheme is expected to benefit around 12.76 lakh people, including attendants.

The government has allocated ₹207 crore annually for the implementation of the Divyang Shakti Scheme, highlighting its commitment to social justice and inclusive growth. By removing mobility barriers, the initiative aims to improve access to education, healthcare, employment, and social participation.

He also highlighted other welfare measures, including pensions of ₹6,000 for persons with disabilities, ₹10,000 for those with severe health conditions, and ₹15,000 for bedridden individuals.
