Special Focus on Devotee Security and Facilities
Guntur, February 13:
On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, District Collector A. Thameem Ansariya inspected the arrangements on Friday at the Sri Balakoteswara Swamy Temple located at Vadlamudi (Quarry) in Chebrolu Mandal.
As a large number of devotees are expected to visit the temple during Maha Shivaratri, the Collector thoroughly reviewed the Maha Shivaratri arrangements, including general queue lines, special darshan, VIP queue lines, vehicle parking, preparation and distribution of prasadam, and locations for medical camps. She stated that devotees should be able to have darshan in a peaceful and orderly environment.
She directed officials of the Endowments Department to coordinate with Revenue and Police departments and ensure that all necessary arrangements are made in advance. Considering that the number of devotees is expected to be nearly double that of last year, she instructed officials to make comprehensive and foolproof arrangements, giving top priority to devotees’ safety and security.
As per police recommendations, she instructed the installation of adequate queue lines, barricades, and CCTV cameras based on the anticipated crowd. She also emphasized the need for providing shaded areas in queue lines and ensuring systematic arrangements to avoid inconvenience during heavy rush.
The Collector directed officials to ensure safe drinking water facilities and instructed that prasadam should be distributed only after proper quality checks. She also advised the installation of signboards, public address systems for continuous announcements, and a control room for monitoring CCTV cameras.
She instructed the Electricity and Fire departments to follow all safety guidelines and obtain necessary certifications after inspections. Continuous sanitation measures should be ensured with sufficient staff deployment, and adequate temporary toilets must be arranged according to crowd requirements.
