Women Safety Awareness Rally in Vijayawada Promotes Respect and Protection
Vijayawada, March 2: The Women Safety Awareness Rally in Vijayawada highlighted the Andhra Pradesh government’s strong commitment to protecting and empowering women, with Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha stating that women’s safety remains a top priority.
The Rally was organised as part of Women Safety Week celebrations and was conducted from Satyanarayanapuram signal to Shivaji Gate. Senior officials, police personnel, and members of various organisations participated in the Rally , raising slogans and spreading awareness on women’s protection.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the Women Safety Awareness Rally in Vijayawada reflects the government’s commitment to creating a safe environment for women. She released the ‘Shakti Team’ brochure and appreciated the Women and Child Safety Wing for their role in protecting women.
Anitha said the Women Safety Awareness Rally in Vijayawada comes at a time when crimes against women in Andhra Pradesh have reduced by 4.4 percent. She said this achievement shows the effectiveness of government measures and assured that more steps will be taken to strengthen safety.
She emphasised during the Women Safety Awareness Rally in Vijayawada that women’s safety is not only the responsibility of police but also society. She said when women are safe, families and society become stronger.
The Minister said the Rally also aims to create awareness among parents to raise boys and girls equally and teach respect for women from childhood. She said respect for women must begin at home.
Highlighting empowerment, Anitha said the Women Safety Awareness Rally in Vijayawada promotes the message that women should be given confidence and equal opportunities to succeed.
She praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and recalled the contribution of N. T. Rama Rao in ensuring women’s rights. She said government policies are continuing their vision.
The Minister warned during the Rally that strict action will be taken against offenders and sexual offender sheets will be opened to monitor criminals.
Senior officials including Women’s Commission Chairperson Rayapati Sailaja and Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu participated in the Women Safety Awareness Rally in Vijayawada and supported the initiative.
