Nellore, March 13:
District Collector Himanshu Shukla announced that ₹110.97 crore has been credited to the bank accounts of 1,95,866 farmers in Nellore district under the PM Kisan – Annadata Sukhibhava schemes.
Speaking at the fund release program held at Pottepalem village in Nellore Rural mandal on Friday, the Collector said that under the 22nd installment of PM Kisan, ₹32.63 crore has been credited to 1,63,125 farmers, while under the third installment of Annadata Sukhibhava, ₹78.35 crore has been credited to 1,95,866 farmers. Altogether, ₹110.97 crore has been directly deposited into farmers’ accounts, he explained.

The Collector said that the PM Kisan Annadata Sukhibhava Nellore initiative is providing financial security to farmers through joint efforts of the Central and State governments. He added that timely financial assistance is crucial, especially during the harvest season, when farmers need funds the most.
He further assured that the government is ready to procure the entire quantity of paddy produced by farmers in the district, as promised by the Chief Minister.
Collector Himanshu Shukla also stated that around 113 TMC of water is currently stored in the Somasila and Kandaleru reservoirs, ensuring sufficient irrigation even if rainfall is below normal in the coming months.
He explained that the government has taken up repairs of irrigation projects, reservoirs, and tanks, which will benefit farmers across the district.
The Collector added that micro-irrigation is being promoted in about 2,500 acres in the district. The MGNREGS scheme is also being linked with agriculture, helping farmers create farm ponds in five-cent plots with government assistance. Plants for horticulture cultivation are also being provided under the program.
He urged farmers to make full use of these opportunities.

CM Initiating Major Reforms in Agriculture: MLC Beeda Ravichandra
MLC Beeda Ravichandra said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has initiated revolutionary reforms in the agriculture sector and the state government is implementing several innovative programs for farmer welfare.
He stated that the Chief Minister is planning to establish a special institute for advanced agricultural studies, which would be unique in the country.
Ravichandra also appreciated the efforts of Collector Himanshu Shukla, saying that the district administration has launched the “Champion Farmer” program, a unique initiative in the state aimed at improving agricultural practices.
He emphasized that the present government is farmer-friendly and is working in every possible way to benefit the farming community.
Later, the mega cheques representing PM Kisan and Annadata Sukhibhava funds were unveiled.
The event was attended by Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, District Agriculture Officer Satyavani, Horticulture Department Officer Subbareddy, local public representatives, officials, and a large number of farmers.
