Eluru, March 11: Eluru MLA Badeti Chanti said that steps have been taken through the collective efforts of officials to ensure that people in the Eluru Assembly constituency do not face drinking water shortage during the coming summer. He advised residents to use water sparingly and cooperate with municipal authorities.
On Wednesday, the MLA, along with officials and public representatives, inspected the Godavari water summer storage tank located near Denduluru, which supplies drinking water to the people of Eluru city. During the visit, he reviewed the ongoing works including the construction of the pump house shed, installation of motors, and development of the electrical substation.

He also inquired with officials about the current water storage levels in the summer storage tank.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, MLA Badeti Chanti said that the breach repair works at the summer storage tank were completed on a war footing to ensure that the city does not face any drinking water issues during the summer.
He added that arrangements have also been made to fill Pumpula Cheruvu with water through canals, and that coordinated efforts between irrigation and municipal corporation officials have helped prevent potential water shortages.

The MLA appreciated the officials of the concerned departments for their efforts. He also appealed to the public to use drinking water carefully and only as required, so that sufficient water is available for everyone during the summer.
Among those present during the inspection were EDA Chairman Peddiboyina Siva Prasad, co-option members SMR Pedababu and Chode Venkataratnam, corporators Sabbanna Srinivas and Pamu Samuel, and Municipal Engineer Surendra Babu, along with other officials.
