Fuel shortage in Telangana rumors clarified by officials

Authorities confirm no fuel shortage in Telangana amid rising rumors

Hyderabad, March 28: Fuel shortage in Telangana concerns have spread widely over the past week, creating anxiety among the public. Reports of petrol pumps running dry and temporary closures in some areas triggered panic buying and long queues. However, officials have firmly clarified that there is no real fuel shortage in Telangana and that the situation is largely driven by misinformation.

Fuel Shortage in Telangana: Rumors vs Reality

Addressing the issue of fuel shortage in Telangana, authorities stated that supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG remains stable across the state. Oil companies have confirmed that there is no disruption in distribution and that stocks are sufficient to meet demand.

Officials explained that the confusion arose due to isolated incidents and unverified social media posts. They urged people not to believe rumors and avoid unnecessary panic buying. The government emphasized that such behavior only creates artificial shortages and disrupts normal supply chains.

They also highlighted that India is not facing this situation alone, as global geopolitical tensions and conflicts are impacting petroleum supply chains worldwide. Since India depends partly on imports, international developments can influence supply perceptions, though not necessarily cause shortages.

Fuel Shortage in Telangana: Government Measures and Public Advisory

To address concerns about fuel shortage in Telangana, the Government of India has taken proactive steps to ensure uninterrupted fuel availability. Efforts are underway to strengthen domestic refining capacity while maintaining steady imports from global partners.

Authorities stated that India is in constant coordination with other countries to secure fuel supplies, even if it requires paying international market prices. Additionally, the government is promoting electric vehicles and railway electrification to reduce long-term dependence on fossil fuels.

The rise in fuel demand due to increasing vehicle usage and the shift from traditional fuels to LPG—especially under schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana—has also contributed to higher consumption levels.

Officials reiterated that there is no need for concern and urged citizens to act responsibly. Avoiding rumors and staying informed through official sources will help maintain stability.
