₹1.35 Lakh Crore Project to Boost Industrial Growth
Sunitha expressed happiness over the foundation laying of the mega steel plant in Anakapalli district, being jointly set up by ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel.
She described it as one of the largest greenfield steel projects in the country, with an investment of over ₹1.35 lakh crore. According to her, the entry of global companies reflects growing investor confidence in Andhra Pradesh.
Over 1 Lakh Jobs Expected for Youth
The MLA said the project will generate more than one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities, especially benefiting youth in the North Andhra region.
The development is likely to improve livelihoods and create new opportunities for local communities.
She added that the project will help transform North Andhra into a major industrial hub, supported by improved infrastructure and connectivity.

The MLA criticized the previous government, stating that industries were hesitant to invest earlier due to uncertainty.
She credited the current coalition government and leadership of Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh for creating a business-friendly environment that is attracting global companies.
Call for Similar Projects in Rayalaseema
Sunitha also urged the government to bring similar mega projects to Rayalaseema to ensure balanced regional development.
Recalling the establishment of Kia Motors during the previous TDP government, she said more international companies should be encouraged to invest in the region.
Officials and leaders believe such projects can accelerate overall development across Andhra Pradesh.
