Dr. Srinivasa Prasad Sakhamuru, a distinguished journalist and Editor of the Telugu daily “Repatikosam,” has been honoured with the prestigious Ugadi Award by the Andhra Pradesh State Government in recognition of his three decades of outstanding service in the Telugu media industry.
Known for his insightful writing and analytical approach, Dr. Sakhamuru has earned wide recognition in the field of journalism. The state government presented this award in appreciation of his significant contributions.
The award was presented by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during the Ugadi celebrations held at Tummalapalli Kshetrayya Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. As part of the honour, Dr. Sakhamuru received a cash prize of ₹10,000, a Telugu Thalli memento, a ceremonial shawl, and a certificate of recognition.
Dr. Srinivasa Prasad began his journalism career in 1988 and has since held several key positions in both print and electronic media. He is currently serving as the Editor of “Repatikosam,” a prominent Telugu daily published from Guntur.

Extensive Experience in Journalism
Dr. Sakhamuru started his career as a Staff Reporter with Andhra Jyothy, covering Tenali, Guntur, and Rajahmundry, where he gained strong field experience. He later worked as Chief Reporter for Telugu Patrika and the political weekly Mabhumi.
He also worked as a freelance journalist, writing analytical articles on political and social issues. Later, he served as News Editor at HCV News Channel and as Bureau In-Charge at Andhra Prabha Daily. Currently, he leads the editorial operations of Repatikosam with professionalism and integrity.
Honorary Doctorate – International Recognition
In recognition of his contributions to journalism, Dr. Sakhamuru received an Honorary Doctorate from South Western American University in 2024. His comparative analysis between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower was noted for its depth and originality.
“Chandrababu X.O” – A Unique Political Work
Dr. Sakhamuru is the author of “Chandrababu X.O,” a distinctive work in political literature. Unlike a conventional biography, the book explores the unexpressed and unimplemented ideas and vision of N. Chandrababu Naidu.
