The Collector said that the PM Kisan Annadata Sukhibhava Nellore initiative is providing financial security to farmers through joint efforts of the Central and State governments. He added that timely financial assistance is crucial, especially during the harvest season, when farmers need funds the most.

He further assured that the government is ready to procure the entire quantity of paddy produced by farmers in the district, as promised by the Chief Minister.

Collector Himanshu Shukla also stated that around 113 TMC of water is currently stored in the Somasila and Kandaleru reservoirs, ensuring sufficient irrigation even if rainfall is below normal in the coming months.

He explained that the government has taken up repairs of irrigation projects, reservoirs, and tanks, which will benefit farmers across the district.

The Collector added that micro-irrigation is being promoted in about 2,500 acres in the district. The MGNREGS scheme is also being linked with agriculture, helping farmers create farm ponds in five-cent plots with government assistance. Plants for horticulture cultivation are also being provided under the program.

He urged farmers to make full use of these opportunities.
