Vijayawada, Feb 09: District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha informed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that coordinated steps are being taken to ensure smooth supply of gravel required for the fast-paced, eco-friendly infrastructure works underway in the new capital Amaravati through a dedicated “green channel.”
On Monday, during the high-level review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat with ministers and secretaries, the Collector joined virtually from the Collectorate VC Hall along with Police Commis sioner SV Rajashekar Babu.
During the discussion, the Collector explained the district’s measures to avoid any hurdles in the supply of gravel and other construc tion materials needed for roads and infrastructure wo rks. He noted that a district-level special committee meeting was recently held to review availability and streamline supply.
Existing quarry leases are being reviewed, and new quarry lease applications are being processed swiftly through a single-window system. Joint inspection teams comprising officials from the Mines, Forest, and Environment departments are conducting coordinated field inspections.
The Collector assured that all actions are being taken in strict adherence to government policies, legal provisions, and environ mental norms, while treating the uninterrupted supply of gravel as a top district priority.
