Amaravati: Power Sector Projects in Andhra Pradesh are being fast-tracked as Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar directed officials to expedite implementation across the state and achieve targets on a war footing.
During a teleconference from his camp office on Friday, the minister reviewed the progress of PM Surya Ghar and RDSS schemes with DISCOM CMDs and senior officials. He stressed the need to strengthen infrastructure and meet the state’s energy goals efficiently.

Focus on Solar Power for SC/ST Beneficiaries
The minister laid special emphasis on providing free solar power to SC and ST households under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. He set a target of completing at least 2,000 solar connections in each constituency between the birth anniversaries of Babu Jagjivan Ram and B. R. Ambedkar.
He instructed officials to take strict measures to ensure these targets are achieved within the stipulated timeframe without delays.

Priority to Agriculture Power Supply
Regarding the agriculture sector, Ravi Kumar ordered immediate clearance of all pending electricity connections before the upcoming farming season. He emphasized the need to strengthen electrical infrastructure to provide uninterrupted power supply to farmers.
This initiative aims to ensure that farmers do not face difficulties during the crucial cropping period.
Government to Bear Power Cost Burden
Reflecting the vision of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the minister said the government will bear the burden of electricity charges to prevent additional financial stress on citizens.
He urged field-level engineers and staff to work with renewed coordination and commitment, stating that efficient service delivery would enhance public trust and provide significant relief to people.
