Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh is rapidly transforming crime prevention with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The state’s RTGS CCTV360 surveillance platform has emerged as a powerful tool for law enforcement, helping police recover stolen vehicles, trace missing persons, and arrest criminals in record time.
According to officials, the AI-enabled CCTV360 system has helped police recover 80 stolen vehicles, trace 73 missing persons, and identify 52 accused individuals in just four months. The technology uses real-time analytics and vehicle recognition to alert police the moment a flagged vehicle is detected anywhere in the state.

One of the most significant breakthroughs came in Guntur, where a stolen Honda Activa scooter was traced through a real-time AI alert. Police quickly arrested the suspect, and further investigation revealed his involvement in seven separate vehicle theft cases, leading to the recovery of multiple stolen vehicles.
In another remarkable case from Bapatla district’s Chirala town, a six-month-old infant was kidnapped while sleeping beside the mother on a roadside. By analyzing footage from multiple CCTV cameras, the RTGS CCTV360 platform tracked the suspect’s movements. Police rescued the baby within 24 hours and safely reunited the child with the family.

The AI surveillance network has already integrated more than 14,750 CCTV cameras across Andhra Pradesh. Once a stolen vehicle number is entered into the system, AI continuously monitors camera feeds and instantly notifies police whenever the vehicle appears anywhere in the state. This significantly speeds up investigations and improves recovery rates.
The system has also played a crucial role in solving pending cases across Vijayawada, Nandigama, Vissannapeta, AS Nagar, Madanapalle, Mylavaram, and Reddygudem. Beyond vehicle theft, the platform is helping police locate missing persons, identify suspects, and reunite families.
Officials say the RTGS CCTV360 initiative is a key component of the Andhra Pradesh government’s vision for a Safe Andhra Pradesh. In the future, the AI-powered platform is expected to support traffic management, disaster response, and urban security, making smart policing more efficient and proactive across the state.
