Amaravati Future City: Role of Media and Responsibility
Speaking at the 11th plenary session of the Indian Journalists Union held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, the Chief Minister highlighted the critical role of the media in nation-building. He stated that the Amaravati Future City will be developed using next-generation technologies and will emerge as a model capital in the coming years.
He stressed that the coalition government places high importance on media and regularly reviews news reports to address public concerns. Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that media trends have changed significantly, with misinformation and false narratives becoming a growing concern. He warned that such misleading content can harm society and undermine trust in institutions.
The Chief Minister also criticized past attempts to restrict press freedom through certain government orders, stating that such measures negatively impacted democratic values. He reaffirmed that his government is committed to being journalist-friendly and ensuring full freedom of expression.

Reiterating his vision for the Amaravati Future City, Chandrababu Naidu identified social media as a major challenge due to the rapid spread of misinformation. He emphasized the need to restore ethics and values in journalism and encouraged media professionals to focus on constructive and progressive reporting.
He clarified that the government welcomes critical journalism and encourages journalists to question authorities responsibly while also highlighting development, peace, and positive change. He urged journalists to closely study the rapid progress taking place in Andhra Pradesh and present it accurately to the global audience.
The Chief Minister further informed that the State Assembly has passed a resolution seeking legal status for Amaravati as the capital and forwarded it to the Central Government. Expressing confidence, he stated that visible transformation in Amaravati Future City will be evident within the next five years.
Ministers K. Parthasarathi and Nimmala Ramanaidu were present at the event. Earlier, leaders including IJU President K. Srinivasa Reddy, Secretary Somasundar, and Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists President I. V. Subba Rao also addressed the gathering.
