Rescue teams continue search operations after five B.Tech students went missing in Godavari River

Eluru, March 20, 2026: In a heartbreaking incident, the Godavari Tragedy B.Tech Students case has shocked both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as five engineering students went missing in the Godavari River during their Ugadi holidays. The tragic incident occurred near the Bhadrachalam region in Bhadradri Kothagudem district when a group of youngsters ventured into the river for a casual outing that turned fatal.

The students, who were pursuing second-year B.Tech at SRMT College in Amaravati, had visited the scenic riverside area along with their friends, Abhiram and Srikar, natives of Bhadrachalam. What started as a joyful holiday trip ended in a devastating accident, raising concerns over safety measures at riverbanks.
