The Divyang Shakti Scheme will be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati. The event will be attended by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh, and BJP Andhra Pradesh President PVN Madhav. Key Benefits of Divyang Shakti Scheme

The Divyang Shakti Scheme is expected to benefit over 12.76 lakh people, including 11.16 lakh persons with disabilities and their attendants across Andhra Pradesh. The scheme offers free bus travel in RTC services, including Stree Shakti buses, and provides a 50% fare concession for attendants accompanying eligible individuals. It is applicable to persons with more than 40% disability and covers a wide range of 4 to 21 disability categories. The state government will allocate ₹207 crore annually to APSRTC for the successful implementation of the Divyang Shakti Scheme.

In a coordinated statewide effort, MLAs will launch similar programmes in their constituencies, travelling with beneficiaries and participating in community meals. The scheme follows the Chief Minister’s earlier announcement on International Day of Persons with Disabilities and builds upon the success of the Stree Shakti Scheme, which has already enabled over 52 crore free journeys for women.
