Allagadda: In the Allagadda SC ST Atrocities Case, the VI Additional Sessions Court at Kurnool has sentenced two accused to four years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹5,000 each.
According to police, the complainant Jwala Narasimhudu, son of Mekala Narasimhudu, aged 42, a resident of Kotakandukuru village in Allagadda mandal and belonging to the SC Madiga community, filed a complaint regarding an incident that occurred on September 8, 2017.
On that day, around 4.30 pm, the complainant went to his agricultural land in Survey No. 890/2 near the boundary of Pedda Kandukuru village to check whether the land was ready for cultivation. The land was in his father’s name and had been in their possession for nearly 40 years.
At that time, Annapureddy Eswar Reddy and Annapureddy Krishna Reddy, whose land was adjacent to the complainant’s field, were cultivating their land using a tractor. After finishing their work, they allegedly entered the complainant’s field and began cultivating it without permission.
When the complainant objected and asked the tractor driver Doddi Khaja not to cultivate the land until proper measurement was conducted, Eswar Reddy allegedly attacked him with the back side of an axe, hitting him on the back. He then attempted to strike the complainant on the head with the axe, but the complainant managed to stop the blow with his hands.
During the altercation, the accused allegedly abused the complainant using caste-based remarks and threatened to kill him. Meanwhile, the second accused Krishna Reddy, also carrying an axe, threatened the complainant and warned him not to interfere.
