Guntur, March 11: The Air Force Agniveer Vayu Open Recruitment Rally at Acharya Nagarjuna University is expected to draw a large number of candidates, said Wing Commander Sheikh Yakoob Ali, Air Force Recruiting Officer from Hyderabad.

Speaking at a media conference held at the District Sainik Welfare Office in Guntur on Wednesday, he said the recruitment rally is being conducted for eligible candidates from the Telugu states. The selection process for women candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which began on March 9, has already been completed as part of the Air Force Agniveer Vayu Open Recruitment Rally.

The Indian Air Force normally conducts recruitment twice a year by releasing official notifications and receiving applications online. In addition to this process, the Air Force is also conducting an open recruitment rally to provide direct opportunities for candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Open Rally Dates for Male Candidates

Male candidates from Andhra Pradesh can attend the rally on March 12, while Telangana candidates can participate on March 15. The recruitment process will be held at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur district.

Unmarried male candidates born between July 2, 2005 and January 2, 2009 are eligible to participate. The minimum height requirement is 152 cm for both men and women.

Candidates must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent, or possess a three-year engineering diploma or two-year vocational course qualification. They must also secure at least 50 percent marks overall and 50 percent in English.

Selection Process

The selection process will include a 1.6 km running test, followed by physical and medical examinations. Candidates who qualify in these stages will appear for a written examination, which will be conducted in English and Hindi. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied for each wrong answer.

Documents to Bring

Candidates are not required to register online and can participate directly in the rally. However, they must bring the following documents:

  • Original or DigiLocker-verified educational certificates (Class X and XII)
  • Domicile certificate
  • NCC certificate (if available)
  • Aadhaar card
  • Email ID and mobile number
  • 10 recent passport-size colour photographs
  • Six photocopies of each certificate

Entry Timings

Candidates must report at the venue between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Entry will be allowed from 4:00 a.m., but no entry will be permitted after 10:00 a.m.

APSRTC buses will operate from Vijayawada and Guntur to facilitate candidates travelling to the venue.

Wing Commander Sheikh Yakoob Ali advised candidates not to rely on middlemen and emphasized that the recruitment process will be conducted in a transparent manner.

District Sainik Welfare Officer R. Gunaseela also attended the media conference.
