Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a major step toward strengthening the state’s tourism sector with the launch of the Visakhapatnam Amusement Park Project, a large-scale entertainment and resort development planned in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam.
The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Modern Masti Private Limited for the development of the project during the IAAPI Expo 2026 held in Mumbai.
The agreement was finalized in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, who said the initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to elevate tourism infrastructure to global standards.

₹100 Crore Investment Planned
According to officials, the Visakhapatnam Amusement Park Project will involve an investment of approximately ₹100 crore and will be developed across about 50 acres of land in Visakhapatnam.
The project will feature a modern amusement park along with a luxury resort with around 100 rooms, offering entertainment and recreational facilities for visitors. Authorities expect the project to create around 300 direct employment opportunities, contributing to the local economy.
Minister Kandula Durgesh said the development aligns with the tourism growth strategy envisioned by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu under the “Swarna Andhra Tourism Vision 2047.”
He noted that the government aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a leading tourism destination by promoting world-class entertainment infrastructure.
“Visakhapatnam is emerging rapidly as a global coastal tourism hub. The government is encouraging investors to set up mega amusement parks and modern entertainment facilities in the city,” Durgesh said.
Experienced Developer to Execute Project
The project will be executed by Modern Masti Private Limited, a company headquartered in Gwalior. Established in 2017, the company operates amusement parks, gaming zones, restaurants and resorts under the “Masti Land” brand.
According to the tourism minister, the promoters of the company have more than four decades of experience in the entertainment and amusement park industry.
Officials believe that the company’s experience will help deliver a high-quality entertainment destination that can attract both domestic and international tourists.
Incentives Under Tourism Policy
The Visakhapatnam Amusement Park Project will be implemented under the New Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy 2024–2029, which aims to attract private investment in tourism infrastructure across the state.
Under the policy, developers are eligible for several incentives, including up to 25 percent subsidy on fixed capital investment, electricity supply at industrial tariff rates and 100 percent reimbursement of net SGST.
The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority will also provide fast-track approvals to ensure the timely execution of the project.
Tourism officials said the project is expected to enhance Visakhapatnam’s reputation as a major leisure and tourism destination while strengthening the state’s efforts to build a robust tourism ecosystem.
With increasing investments in tourism infrastructure, the government hopes the city will attract more visitors and establish itself as one of India’s premier coastal tourism hubs.
